"Sami" is the pen name of the founder of this website. He uses a pen name for the same reason you might not put your home address on the internet: privacy. Everything else here is true.
He's an adult with a working life, many interests and a weakness for conversations that start with "Can I ask you something strange?" He likes people who read, people who wonder, people who have changed their mind about something important, and people who make terrible jokes with total confidence.
He is not a therapist, a coach, a guru or an influencer. He has no certificate in friendship. (He looked. There isn't one.)
How the letters are answered
Honestly: Sami is one person. Letters sent here are read and answered by Sami's AI assistant, and it signs its replies that way. It also suggests introductions. Sami reads a summary of every day's letters, and anything that looks unsafe comes straight to him.
